Tiny Tot Inspires Mothers Challenge
Little Emma White is the inspiration behind her Mother’s decision to abseil 120ft down the Europa to raise funds for the premature baby charity, TinyLife. Genny White, Mother of two from Glengormley suffered from pre eclampsia, which resulted in Emma being delivered by emergency section at 30 weeks. ‘Emma was brought round to me very quickly for a kiss…she was so tiny (2lb 7oz) I thought I would break her if I kissed her but when I did my lips covered her whole face’ explained Genny.
Emma spent the first 6 weeks of her life in neo natal care at Craigavon Area Hospital fighting to get stronger. With drips and monitors attached to through her tiny head, Genny was haunted by Emma’s little kitten type voice as she screamed in pain.
Thankfully the Whites are almost a year on from their dramatic ordeal and they are looking forward to celebrating a very healthy and lively first birthday for their ‘beautiful little angel’. Genny plans to mark this occasion by abseiling the Europa. ‘When I think of what Emma and thousands of other innocent little babies have went through, it makes me determined to raise as much money as possible’.
The abseil, which will take place on Saturday 26th April 2008 at the Europa Hotel, Belfast will be supported by Genny’s friends and family. Genny’s brother, Michael Kerr has very generously donated a whooping £500 towards her challenge. Anyone else wishing to make a donation, please contact Samara on 02890 815050.
